Hanging Towels | Self-Drafted Pattern
This idea was based on what I've seen in the night markets of Taiwan and at family's bathrooms and kitchens. It turns out, they are also a thing here in the US! :) but I don't think they are as popular as I haven't seen them in anyone's house, until I started making them and gifting them to all my friends.
It all started with me posting my first made hanging towel on my Facebook account, and I started getting inquiries from friends that they would like to buy them. I was shocked! Someone wanted to buy something I made for fun? How great is that! So, then I went on Etsy to see how much people were selling them for, and that's how I got the post started! Visit my Etsy store if you're interested in checking it out. I can do custom orders too, just message me and I'll show you what fabric I have available.
I have used several types of fabric to do the top part, and I ordered these buttons that say "handmade with love" on Etsy so that I can use them on these towels. I still have plenty of those buttons, I think they give them a very cute touch. The inside of the top part also has batting so that it's a bit cushion-y to the touch. The towels are hand towels that I have purchased on Amazon - they are very plushy and fast dry!
To make the towels, I cut the fabric in a triangle, rounding the top corner. The dimensions are 12" X 15" X 15" (the 15" is so there's enough space to fold over. The flap has a buttonhole, which is used to fasten the button. Double stitched at the intersection between the fabric and the towel, and voila, you've got a hanging towel!
